Tell us a bit about yourself:
Hi. My name is Calvin Hernandez. DJ/Producer from England. I’ve been doing it for 6 years and within that time, I’ve been doing gigs in the south and mids of England. Recently had my mashup played at EDC Mexico and also supported by Alex M.O.R.P.H.Nationally I’m an open format DJ, but the genres I love to play are EDM, Trance & Tech House. Belters only!
How did you get into DJing?
I’ve had a passion for music since I can remember. But in 2016, I met this guy at a club in a town called Chippenham in England. And he thought me the ways how to do it. Originally, I was inspired by Hardwell. His music and energy that he brought to the stage when DJing, really got me interested.
What DJs have had the most influence on you?
Hardwell, Martin Garrix & Boris Brejcha
You’re being put to death, but you can listen to one last track before you die. What track do you choose?
Hardwell – Birds Fly
What’s your favourite thing about Ibiza?
Wow. Favourite thing about Ibiza. Okay.. It’s that moment when you land, walk down the aisle to exit. And the moment you walk out and touch the ground, you know that this is something magical and no words on earth could explain how it feels to someone who has never been to Ibiza!
What’s the easiest thing about being a DJ?
Being passionate about it. Without passion, DJing or being a DJ would seem to be like skydiving on your own at 30k ft. Not that I’ve done it, but it’s on my wish list to sky dive soon!
And what’s the hardest thing about being a DJ?
Meeting the expectations of a crowd. You can be world’s No. 1 DJ. But if you don’t please a crowd, you are nothing. Because that crowd is something that turns them into fans!
Best thing about Dance Music culture right now?
Dance music unites people. It has the power to change someone’s life and help them out if they have been struggling with anything. It’s like an antidote!
Worst thing about Dance Music culture right now?
I will answer this question when I’ve found something worst about dance music culture.
Why should listeners vote for you?
Listeners can vote me if they love my mix. That’s the only reason I can give. If they enjoy, if that’s made them dance, If that’s made them think about a party, they can feel free to vote.
