Tell us a bit about yourself:
Hi! We are A-J/72 and we’re from South Wales. We predominately play house and tech-house music but we also enjoy techno and Bigroom style EDM.
How did you get into DJing?
We got into DJing after Creamfields 2016 when we were 18 years old. After seeing some of our favorite DJs, we decided that this would be something we would want to do & our passion and knowledge for music have grown ever since!
What DJs have had the most influence on you?
1) Swedish House Mafia – their music really set the tone for the explosion in electronic music in the early 2010s. 2) Patrick Topping – he has released some huge tracks over the years & his Trick label has been putting new artists in the spotlight for a while now which is amazing.3) Biscuits – his unique sound is unreal and we play his tracks in every gig that we play. Our personal favorite track of his is “Wait a Minute”.
You’re being put to death, but you can listen to one last track before you die. What track do you choose?
This is such a difficult question to answer! At the moment one of our favorite tracks to play in our sets is Crusy – Selecta. The hard-hitting drums in the drop always make it stand out from any other track in our opinion.
What’s the easiest thing about being a DJ?
In our opinion, the easiest part of being a DJ is playing the music that we love to a like-minded crowd. No better feeling!
And what’s the hardest thing about being a DJ?
The hardest part of being a DJ is reading certain crowds who aren’t typically used to electronic music as it is sometimes difficult to gauge what people want to hear in this type of crowd.
Best thing about Dance Music culture right now?
The best aspect of the dance music scene at the moment is the unity amongst the community as well as the variety of genres that come under the dance music umbrella.
Worst thing about Dance Music culture right now?
Perhaps one of the downfalls of this scene is the lack of young local talent at various events around the U.K
Why should listeners vote for you?
Listeners should vote for us for our unique sound, which we think comes across in our 60 minute mix. We are also quite versatile in what we play, for example: in our radio residency, we play a variety of genres to display our range across two hours. We hope you guys enjoy our mix 🙂
