Tell us a bit about yourself:
Hey my names Jojoe and I’m 23 year old house and tech house DJ from Liverpool.
How did you get into DJing?
I got into DJing at the start of the pandemic but it had always been something I wanted to do but was always to afraid to go for it but when covid hit I decided to go for it and haven’t looked back since and gone from strength to strength!
What DJs have had the most influence on you?
First of all I will say Avicii in my early teenage years I really became a fan of dance music and I Avicii was a huge influence on that. Second I will say Calvin Harris like Avicii he had a massive influence on me when I was younger but still to this day he is having a huge influence on my career and I aspire to reach the levels that he has. Last I’m going to go for James hype not only is he a an absolute wizard on the decks and makes some top tunes, he’s local to where I am from and i look at it like if he can do it why cant I !
You’re being put to death, but you can listen to one last track before you die. What track do you choose?
For my it’s got to be Benediction by Hot Natured , it’s such a timeless song I don’t think I could ever get bored of listening to it.
What’s the easiest thing about being a DJ?
Doing what I love for a living whenever I’m DJing it never feels like work.
And what’s the hardest thing about being a DJ?
Got to be drunk people constantly requesting songs haha.
Best thing about Dance Music culture right now?
Lots of of up coming producers are smashing it at the minute like for example LF system are absolutely flying in the charts with Afraid to feel
Worst thing about Dance Music culture right now?
Definitely that there isn’t enough super clubs anymore, obviously you have places like Ibiza but I think in the UK there could be a lot more venues to give DJs opportunities but hopefully that can change.
Why should listeners vote for you?
I think listeners should vote for me because i believe on the night I can absolutely smash my set and my mix shows that, to play in Ibiza is a massive dream of mine and to do it on the biggest stage playing alongside Claptone in pacha would be surreal.
